The Department includes several programs, two of which this position will support: the Electrical Engineering Technology Program and the Building Construction Program. The Department plans to partner with industry to develop an energy systems center and participates in a wide variety of STEM-related initiatives, including
· Intelligent Control and Optimization of Power and Energy Systems
· Demonstration House, the BEST House (sustainability, storm mitigation) that showcases energy efficiency load center for power grid
Depending on the candidate, job duties include:
· Undergraduate and graduate level teaching
Possible courses include: Scheduling, Structures, Soils/Concrete/Masonry, AutoCAD, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Engineering Economy, Electronics, Power, Sustainable Research courses.
· Research in areas related our BEST House efforts, which may include: Energy Efficiency Load center, Energy Storage options, Intelligent and Smart Control and LEED and Sustainability, Storm Mitigation.
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
· Ph.D.; Doctoral degree from an accredited institution appropriate to the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service and a clear research agenda that will guide the candidate’s scholarly career in applied research.
· Contribute to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate’s field of study.
· Teaching experience
Duties:
· Teach construction- and/or electrical-related courses in undergraduate engineering technology program.
· Conduct research in areas related to Departmental initiatives.
· Participate in outreach activities, including Department initiatives:
Undergraduate and graduate programs in energy and sustainability
BEST House, energy, and workforce development
Providing professional and continuing education.
Salary: negotiable, depending upon qualifications, 55K-61K (9 months) plus benefits. Possible additional compensation through summer employment available.
