Assistant/Associate Professor (PRF#10138)

We are looking for a strong teacher with a research program that includes undergraduate students. The Mankato CM program has a 30+ year history and currently has over 250 students enrolled. All tenure track faculty have or are completing doctorates.  We are looking for a strong performer to contribute to the ACCE Accreditation process. Future program plans include both master’s and doctoral education.

SALARY: Depends on Qualifications

POSITION: Tenure Track (Probationary); Nine Month Appointment*

 

DATE OF APPOINTMENT: August 16, 2010

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tenure Track position to teach upper and lower division undergraduate construction management courses in two or more of these areas: Construction Graphics, Documents, Materials & Methods, Safety, Estimating, Planning & Scheduling, Project Management, Mechanical & Electrical Systems, Structural Analysis & Design or Project Development.

  • Participate in development of undergraduate and graduate curriculum and instruction materials.

  • Participate in supervising and teaching laboratories if appropriate.

  • Develop online courses.

  • Develop and maintain an externally funded research program.

  • Perform appropriate service functions for the department, university and community.

  • Advise students.

  • Participate in professional meetings and establish key construction industry contacts.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned Doctorate from an accredited university.

  • Two years teaching experience in a construction-related degree program.

  • Two years experience in the North American construction industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to carry out externally funded research.

 

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: 

  • Preferred Doctorate in: Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Architecture, Business or related degree field.

  • Computer literacy in two or more: BIM, AutoCAD, Scheduling, Estimating or Project Management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty, administrators and students.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
