A new administrative position has been established at Wentworth Institute of Technology. This position will be responsible for the evolution, direction, and administrative functions of a new Master of Science in Construction Management Program. Responsibilities include; curriculum development and revisions; faculty coordination; program strategic planning; student advising; coordination of accreditation efforts; course instruction; coordination with supporting departments, marketing, admissions, and student acceptance. The position will report to the Department Head of Civil, Construction, and Environment (CCEV) and is expected to work closely with all the constituents across the Institute.
Requirements:  The department seeks a highly motivated and energetic individual that can manage a number of tasks simultaneously. The individual should be a highly effective communicator. They should also possess a willingness to engage in the development of distance education/learning activities (may include on-line course development and delivery). Minimal qualifications include an earned Doctorate in Construction, Engineering, Technology, or closely related field. Teaching and/or experience at a college/university, preferably at the graduate level, is also required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as solid computer skills are necessary. A substantial body of professional practice experience is also required.  Applicants that possess professional licensure and/or certifications will be given preference.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:  The dynamic CCEV Department offers a BS degree in Construction Management, and a BS in Civil Engineering Technology. A new Master of Construction Management degree is planned for fall 2010.  The Department currently has eighteen full-time faculty with two full-time laboratory assistants as well as three administrative assistants. There are modern laboratories including construction materials and methods laboratory, computer labs, a new state-of-the-art project laboratory equipped with construction industry software, a new surveying laboratory, and a “mock” construction site laboratory. The Department also has many strong ties with local industry and associations.
