Faculty Position Description

The Department of Building Construction Management at Purdue University is seeking to fill a full-time 10- month clinical faculty position at the rank of assistant clinical professor.

The successful candidate will develop, and teach undergraduate courses, instruct professional continuing education courses, and participate in construction related associations.  The candidate must possess ability to teach within such core course areas as: estimating, scheduling, field supervision, project management, company management, blueprint reading, safety and loss control, risk management, contracts, and construction financial management.

Additional desired specialty areas of interest and/or professional experience sought in the candidates include, but are not limited to:  electrical construction, mechanical construction, and building environmental systems.

In a clinical position, the candidate will be expected to have a primary assignment which focuses on instruction with a reduced expectation of performing applied research.  The successful candidate must be able to develop and foster industry / government relationships within their chosen area of expertise.

Successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Masters Degree in Construction, Engineering or related fields.  Professional construction industry experience in a free market economy is required.
