Full-Time Tenure-Earning Assistant Professor Position

Pittsburg State University requests applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-earning faculty position in the Department of Construction Management and Construction Engineering Technologies.  The CMCET department consists of approximately 350 students and 8 full-time faculty.  Additional information - http://www.pittstate.edu/construction/

The successful candidate must be committed to a progressive team-oriented environment in a growing construction program with an emphasis on teaching (9-12 hours/semester), student recruitment and industry engagement.  PSU Construction faculty are expected to: 1) assist with advisement, 2) assist with recruitment, 3) assist with student organizations, 4) be active in professional organizations, 5) pursue scholarly / grant / private funding / applied research activities, 6) assist with appropriate construction related workshop/seminar activities . Primary teaching assignment may include courses in construction management (undergraduate and graduate), estimating, contracts, senior capstone and construction methods. Computer competency is expected. The successful candidate must be committed to the future development of a Center of Construction Excellence in Field Management and Supervision.  

Qualifications:

• Degree (BS) in Construction (engineering, eng. technology, management, civil eng, etc.) or a closely related area required.

• Graduate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or closely related area required.

• A minimum of five (5) years appropriate U. S. construction industry experience required.

• Senior level construction management/administration experience required.  

• Record of construction industry and professional society (AGC,ABC,ASC, AIC, etc.) engagement required.

• Background in construction related business development required.

• Professional registration/certifications (C.P.C., C.S.P., contractor’s license, NCCER Master Trainer, OSHA, PE, LEED-AP, etc.) required.

• University or college teaching experience preferred.
