The School of Construction and Design at The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the Instructor level, with a target start date of August 2025.
About the Construction Management Program:
The School of Construction and Design at the University of Southern Mississippi offers nationally accredited programs that provide relevant knowledge and technology for design and construction education to serve the professional needs of the construction, architecture, and interior design sectors. The School has experienced an increase in student enrollment over the past years, making it one of the fastest growing units within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Construction Management Program is the largest of three degree programs offered by the School of Construction and Design. Architectural Engineering Technology and Interior Design are the other degree programs available. The entire Construction Management degree program is offered online in addition to the face-to-face program. The Construction Management program has 130 on-campus and 185 online students, as well as seven full-time faculty members, as of Fall 2024. The American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), the major accreditation body for higher-education programs in construction management and related fields across the country, recently approved the Construction Management Program’s re-accreditation for six years, from July 31, 2022, to July 31, 2028. The Construction Management Program has forged strong ties with the construction industry and its alumni. An enthusiastic industry advisory council participates in and advises on degree program initiatives, providing enthusiastic support for the program. Members of the Industry Advisory Council frequently teach or appear as guest lecturers in the program. All members of the Industry Advisory Council’s Executive Committee are alumni or have employees who have graduated from the program. The Industry Advisory Council provides critical feedback on the mission of the program as well as each course.
