Assistant/Associate Instructor or Assistant Professor of Construction Management
The School of Industrial Sciences & Technology at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for a 9-month faculty position to teach classes in the Construction Management and Engineering Technology (Civil option area) programs starting Fall 2024. Rank and tenure will be determined based on the experience and credentials of the selected applicant.

The successful candidate will teach Construction Management and Engineering Technology (Civil option area) courses, work with student organizations, develop curriculum and labs, foster industry contacts, recruit students, assess course results, and participate in other university service activities and scholarly activity based on rank.

Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree or at least 18 hours applied to the Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least five years of U.S. domestic construction and/or engineering industry experience.
3. Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.

Resume/Vita should support the candidate’s ability to teach Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology courses such as Heavy Construction, Engineering Geology, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Statics, Construction/Engineering Materials, Hydraulics, Foundation Design, Concrete and Steel Design, and other related courses.

The instructor position is initially non-tenure track but may transition to tenure-track status if the Faculty of the School of Industrial Sciences and Technology and the Dean of the College of Health, Science, and Technology concur that there is evidence of academic potential and the instructor fulfills the following criteria for appointment at the Assistant Professor/Tenure-Track Level.

Minimum Requirements for Assistant Professor/Tenure-Track Level Appointment:
A Doctorate in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field with experience in the U.S. construction industry. Evidence of scholarly potential or essential contributions in the construction industry or a related domain.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Professional credentials (CPC, LEED AP, PMP, etc.)
2. Professional licensure and registration (PE, AIA)
3. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level
