Position Description:
The Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applicants for a Visiting Lecturer position to begin in Fall 2025 semester. This position is a part-time, one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and departmental needs. Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research, and service, some variation by academic unit.
About the Department:
The department is seeking an outstanding and passionate educator to teach undergraduate courses in construction engineering and management. Courses may include, but not limited to construction cost estimating, construction management, sustainability, construction contract and specifications, construction safety, construction methods, construction equipment, MEP systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s teaching mission by delivering high-quality instruction and engaging students in innovative learning experiences.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses per semester, and to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching, mentor undergraduate students, and participate in the necessary operation of the institution.
Major Essential Functions:
Teach four courses per semester in construction engineering.
Demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching.
Engage with students through advising and mentorship.
Participate in the departmental and institutional activities as needed.
Faculty Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, construction engineering technology, or related fields.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in construction engineering or related fields.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
Three years of construction industry experience in the United States.
