Tammy McCuen, Ph.D., wrote, “What resonates most with me to this day was his commitment to continuous improvement of our program. He accepted the fact that construction is a dynamic industry in which one must respond quickly to challenges, such as emerging trends and workforce shortages. He insisted that the curriculum maintain relevance with the industry to ensure students were fully prepared upon graduation.”
In ASC, Ken was very involved in areas of student competitions and industry engagement. He was one of the originators of the Region 5 competition event and later helped develop the international design-build competition that continues in Region 5.
In industry, he forged a strong partnership between ASC and TEXO, the industry association representing AGC and ABC in North Texas. Most recently, his role with AGC helped produce the AGC Faculty Internship program which assists in bringing current and relevant industry experience into construction classrooms. Ken’s passion for construction education was evident wherever he went, and we are excited to celebrate his commitment through this Lifetime Achievement Award.
ASC congratulates Ken on his award.
